Today’s Devotion Is Tomorrow’s Foundation
Dear Members and Friends of Good Shepherd Parish,
This past winter I wrote to you to share the news that we were conducting a feasibility study that would gather feedback on a proposed plan for repairs and renovations to our parish facilities. This feasibility study was the next step in a process that has been under discussion for some time at Good Shepherd Parish. We held several informational meetings that were well attended. We received terrific feedback and heard many questions and comments. We encouraged members of the parish to take part in interviews and 44 households participated. Many additional households returned surveys. There was a clear consensus to move forward, but the parish feedback made it clear that taking care of our church and sanctuary was the top priority.
All parish members will receive a capital campaign brochure with details about the renovation and repair plan. I believe the plan reflects the feedback received from the parish. When I wrote to you this past winter, I suggested that while we value our history and the memory of all those who worked so hard to bring us to this point in time, we don’t shy away from our responsibility to the present and future members of Good Shepherd, or the community we serve. This plan stays true to that observation.
I want to take a moment to thank all those that have been part of this planning discussion in its various elements. It’s gratifying to know that so many have offered their time and talent to this process. Now that the plans have been finalized, what are we asking each member to do?
There are several things we ask you to do in the weeks ahead:
Pray for all who are involved in the conducting of our Today’s Devotion Is Tomorrow’s Foundation campaign.
- Read through the information presented in the capital campaign brochure and spend some time discerning a thoughtful response.
- There are still many ways to volunteer in support of our campaign, if you are asked to help please consider saying yes!
- I am grateful for the many ways you serve this parish and I look forward to a very positive outcome we can all feel good about. There is a role for each of us as this campaign unfolds.
