Collection for Hurricane Dorian Relief

Our prayers go out to all those who experienced and continue to experience the devastation of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. At Bishop Ricken’s request, we have been asked to have a
special collection to help assist Archbishop Patrick Pinder and the Archdiocese of Nassau to provide relief to those affected by the recent hurricane. Some of their churches are being used to house the homeless. One church was completely lost on Abico Island.

Archbishop Pinder is a former classmate and friend of Bishop Ricken. In an email to Bishop Ricken, Archbishop Pinder shared, “We are in the midst of the worst disaster in the history of our little nation. 70,000 persons were affected by the hurricane. Most of them are now homeless. We have never faced anything of this scale.”

If you would like to give to the hurricane relief fund, please place your donation in the enclosed envelope marked “Hurricane Dorian Relief” and place it in the regular collection or drop it off at the parish office. Please make checks payable to: Good Shepherd Parish. Thank you for your assistance in helping all of those affected by this catastrophic storm.
