Jerry Koenig Honored by Knights of Columbus
On March 1st the Good Shepherd Knights of Columbus Council of Chilton held their annual Corporate Communion Mass and breakfast with about 150 in attendance. During the 10:00 am Mass, numerous Knights sang in the choir and served as ushers, gift presenters, eucharistic ministers and as lector. At the end of Mass, the Knights present were asked to stand and were recognized with a special prayer from Father Jon and applause from the congregation.
A very special honor was presented to Jerry Koenig for his 25 years of leadership and service to the Parish’s Jesus and Company Youth Group. Some of the many projects that Jerry and his wife Jeanette led were 15 summer mission trips to Mississippi. Jerry Mallmann, who led the event, spoke of the impact Jerry Koenig has had on so many youth in our Parish.
Each year during Corporate Communion, the Knights recognize all student and adult Mass servers during this Mass, and with a breakfast in the Parish hall following. Servers who are graduating seniors in high school were presented with a rosary, prayer booklet, and a certificate of appreciation. All other Mass servers in attendance received special treats.
Ziggy Gross, a young adult parish member and Knight, was the inspiring speaker with the message that God has a plan for all of us.
