October Meeting
The meeting October 17th began at 6:45 PM at Eagles Club. Checks were presented: $250 to the Salvation Army for Coats for Kids and $500 to VIDA for their pregnancy support. We voted to again cover the cost of Missalettes for Good Shepherd Parish $2220 and donated $200 to the chalice for vocations project. GK Stephen Schneider urged members to continue to pray for vocations. Dave Bennin asked that members consider joining him as a member of the Fourth Degree Honor Guard. This ministry represents the KofC at numerous events and serves as an honor guard wherever the Bishop travels or if a parish holds a Eucharistic procession.

40 Days for Life
Our Council was represented on the Walk for Life this fall by Paul Schneider and Ken Vogt. The Supreme Court decision to return the legal control over abortion to the state has not ended the need to continue to publicly witness to the sanctify of life. Even as the legislative reps in Madison and the Governor attempt to find an “acceptable” path forward, abortions continue – many chemically induced without medical supervision. We stand for all life and must find a way to change people’s hearts and behavior, not succumb to the culture of death pushed by activists under a banner of individual freedom and choice. Life begins at conception – REAL SCIENCE and that innocent life is precious!

Landing Day Banquet
Over 65 members and guests gathered for our annual social. Anne Tretinyak from VIDA Medical Clinic and Support Services, Appleton was the featured speaker and gave us an insight into the work her group does in “walking” with mothers facing unexpected pregnancies. We along with the Tri-Parish Council presented checks to three area groups that work with the Intellectually Disabled (proceeds from our ID campaign – Tootsie Roll drive). Finally, Star Council Award was presented to Tri-Parish and the Columbian Award to Good Shepherd KofC.

Choir
Our choir ministry is back – Full Strength. We will be singing at the 4:00 PM Mass on the fourth Saturday of each month. Practice is usually at 6:00 PM the preceding Sunday night. Remember the old adage – singing is twice praying! Come and sing.

Nov 3rd 6:00 AM Mass
All men are invited to join with other Catholic men each First Thursday for the 6:00 AM Mass followed by breakfast and a short film and discussion – Finished by 7:30 AM. The event is sponsored by Men of Christ and is held each month at Hilde’s Deli. Come whenever your schedule allows. If you would like a breakfast sandwich, sign up at the church entrance so it is ready for you at Hilde’s after Mass.

Poultry Bingo Night
Bingo came roaring back – October 23 at the Eagles Club. We had a full room and loads of fun and laughter as over 125 avid players vied for that chance to shout BINGO! Entrance fee was only $5 and there were 60 door prizes awarded throughout the night. First call was at 6:00 pm and the 24 games of bingo were completed by 8:30 pm, even with many having to be replayed due to multiple bingos where winners each received $2. Thanks to all who attended and those who donated prizes.
