Knightly News May 2023
April Meeting
The meeting April 17 commenced at 6:45 PM in the Good Shepherd Hall. High Point was at the very start when PGK Herb Buhl and Grand Knight Stephen Schneider completed the new member exemplifications for Dale Gebhart, Ken Weber, and Joseph Geiser, our newest 3rd Degree Knights. Bills were reviewed and paid. Briefly touched on some points regarding plans for a dinner in 2024 to celebrate our 100-year anniversary.
Council Officers – July
Grand Knight Stephen Schneider indicated the official election of next years’ officers will be held at the May 15 meeting. While most of the current officers have indicated a willingness to continue, this is a good time to place your name into consideration. Contact Stephen Schneider if interested.
Brat Fry News
We braved the late March blizzard that struck at the last hour trying to dampen Grand Opening festivities at Tractor Supply. Through efforts of our valiant off-site grillers – Don Z., Paul S., & Stephen S. and along with inside volunteers, we were able to serve a very hungry public, even including a few deliveries. We will be therefore present Habitat for Humanity a check for $1300.
Our next event is Friday May 19, when we will be grilling for two local families that are facing unexpected medical related expenses. So if you can help us, GREAT! But in any case, come out and support us or have your workplace order in lunch for us to deliver!
Former Knights Welcome
We are always seeking more Catholic men to join our Council and share in our Faith and Charitable activities. Sometimes all it takes to is a simple invite. Maybe you were a past member and your situation has changed. Perhaps you were a Knight in a different parish. We would be proud to resurrect your membership.
CACS Summer Cookout
We will cook lunch for the school and staff on Wednesday May 24 – hopefully no snow!
Come Talk with Me
Consider this a personal invitation to visit one on one with Me. I gave you the gift of Eucharist so I would be physically present for all time. Can you not watch one hour with Me? Contact Lyle Sattler at 849.8126 to get into the rotation for the Good Shepherd Chapel of Divine Mercy (perpetual adoration). The Knights visit 3:00 PM Saturday.

5:30 AM Rosary and Mass – May 4
All men are invited to join with other Catholic men each First Thursday for the 6:00 AM Mass followed by breakfast and a short film and discussion – Finished by 7:30 AM. The event is sponsored by Men of Christ and is held each month at Hilde’s Deli. Come whenever your schedule allows. Rosary begins at 5:30 am.
Prayer Warriors Needed
Please pray for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life and for Pro-Life. The evil of abortion is still present and making inroads into state law, even up to the moment of BIRTH!
Give Us a Try
A Fraternal group of like-minded Catholic men, dedicated to serving our church and community is only one facet of KofC Council 2556. Access to optional outstanding insurance and retirement benefits and regular support and reinforcement of your faith and values are included. Meetings are open – Give us a test drive!
Choir on May 27
The KofC choir has the 4th Saturday of each month. Consider joining us on May 27 – 4:00 pm Mass. We even have some gentlemen join us who are not Knights. That is great! – they say singing is twice praying! [At least that is what the nuns told me!]
