Knightly News June 2023
May Meeting
The meeting May 15 commenced at 6:45 PM in the Good Shepherd Hall. Opening prayer was followed by nominations for the next year’s officers. The slate of candidates was approved unanimously by the members. So effective July the Council leadership has two new officers – Herb Buhl takes over Recorder duties from Dave Mallmann and Glenn Mueller assumes the Trustee role held by Guy Arnold. Grand Knight Stephen Schneider thanked those officers for their service and welcomed the new and continuing leadership team. The bills were paid and a donation of $300 made to the Good Shepherd knitting ministry to purchase yarn.
Brat Fry Results
On Friday May 19, we held a fundraiser for two local families that are facing unexpected medical expenses. The response of the entire community was heartwarming. We had a great crew of volunteers, men grilling and ladies serving and making the sandwiches for sale and delivery. On top of the sales, we received significant cash donations as well, raising nearly $3700! The team at Tractor Supply was again gracious and supportive of our event. So, thank you to them and all who came and/or ordered food from our stand.
Former Knights Welcome
We are always seeking more Catholic men to join our Council and share in our Faith and Charitable activities. Maybe you were a past member and your situation has changed. Our Fraternal group of like-minded Catholic men, dedicated to serving our church and community is only one facet of KofC Council 2556. Access to optional outstanding insurance and retirement benefits and regular support and reinforcement of your faith and values are included. Meetings are open – Give us a test drive!
CACS Cookout
On May 24th our Council did the annual year end cookout for students and staff. It is a joy to see our youngsters enjoying the simple meal of hot dogs or hamburgers grilled by our expert chefs on the parking lot by school!

Prayer Warriors Needed
Please pray for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life and for Pro-Life. The evil of abortion is still present and making inroads into state law, even up to the moment of BIRTH!
Corpus Christi Procession
On Sunday June 11 Good Shepherd Parish will hold a Eucharistic Procession to celebrate the feast day and publicly display our faith and belief in the real presence of Christ in the form of Bread and Wine. Weather permitting the path will be longer than previous years – just about a mile. Therefore, we need at least 8 volunteers to carry the canopy. This will allow bearers to hand off if they get tired along the route. If you are interested in helping, please contact Ronald Dietrich at 920.762.0349 to sign up or have your questions answered. Modification have been made to the canopy to make it stiffer and easier to maintain the poles in position.
