Job Opening: Coordinator of Religious Education and Youth Discipleship

Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the religious formation efforts of youth and adults at Good Shepherd Parish. The coordinator will work closely with the pastor, parents, volunteers, and other staff members to develop and implement programs that promote the Catholic faith and help young people grow in their relationship with God.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement religious education programs for children and youth, including sacramental preparation programs for First Communion, Confirmation, and Reconciliation
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with religious education programs
• Collaborate with parents and families to support their children’s spiritual growth and development
• Provide ongoing formation and training for catechists and other volunteers
• Coordinate and lead youth ministry programs, including retreats, service projects, and social events
• Plan and lead regular meetings with parents, volunteers, and other staff members to evaluate and improve programs
• Ensure compliance with diocesan and parish policies and guidelines for religious education and youth ministry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level education. Special consideration given to those whose studies are in theology or related field.
• Experience in similar job preferred.
• Understanding of catechetical processes and methods for teaching children and adults
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with pastor, parents, volunteers, and other staff members
• Commitment to the Catholic faith and the mission of the Church
