Knightly News July 2023
June Meeting
The meeting June 19 commenced at 6:45 PM in the Good Shepherd Hall. Present to install the officers for the coming fraternal year were Tre Waldren and Jim Hooyman, District Deputies. We paid bills and gave two families our May Brat Fry profits of $4000. Authorized Herb Buhl to continue upgrade of the Pro-Life Billboard on Hwy 151 which is priced at $1500. He will contact the other Calumet County Councils for financial support. We voted to award Legion of Mary members $250 toward logo’d sweaters.
Eucharistic Procession
Special thanks to all who participated to make this years’ Corpus Christi Procession and public Adoration something special. For those who may have not been able to join in, here is a brief summary: the procession was led by servers and First Communicants who were in their White dresses and black suits, spreading rose petals. The canopy covering the Monstrance with the Body of Christ was next followed by over 100 faithful from Chilton and surrounding parishes. Then a brief stop at the altar set up at the Gene and Margaret Sinner home where prayers continued before the procession moved back to the Good Shepherd campus to an altar set up in the area north of the school parking lot, for a period of silent adoration. Two flags – US and the Papal accompanied the procession as did a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Coming Soon
We will be holding our annual fund raiser for the Intellectually Disadvantaged very soon. So, watch for our members decked out in the yellow vests and be generous. The monies collected go to local agencies that work with individuals who have Intellectual Disabilities.

Prayer Warriors Needed
Please pray for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life and for Pro-Life. The evil of abortion is still present and making inroads into state law, even up to the moment of BIRTH!
Give Us a Try
A Fraternal group of like-minded Catholic men, dedicated to serving our church and community is only one facet of KofC Council 2556. Access to optional outstanding insurance and retirement benefits and regular support and reinforcement of your faith and values are included. Meetings are open – Give us a test drive!
Faith-filled Member Dies
June 19, 2023 Ken “Fritz” Vogt died from injuries suffered two days earlier as he was walking home from festivities in downtown. He will be missed! Ken lived a simple life and was always willing to assist in whatever way he could, giving 100% and asking very little in return. We could all learn from him.
Special Thanks
To all those who helped test the canopy assembly instructions. All your ideas have been incorporated – marking items, color coding, photos and wing nuts! We will test the results in another year or so. Well done.
