Knightly News October 2023

“I Am A Person”
Our Pro-Life billboard was installed August 30 on Highway 151 just west of “C”. It replaced the faded one with the same message. Project was funded by our Council as well as New Holstein, Tri-Parish, and Kiel Councils, with help from Pro-Life Wisconsin. Construction engineers were from Chilton, New Holstein and Pro-Life.

September Meeting
The meeting September 18 commenced at 6:45 PM in the Good Shepherd Hall. Council paid bills and then discussed some upcoming or new initiatives. Briess has asked us to assist with the Adopt-A- Highway, so on Saturday Oct 7 we will gather to clean up the stretch of 151from Chilton Furniture to the Hayton railroad tracks. A State program will enable us to buy Coats for Kids at ½ our normal cost so we approved $300 for that effort. Our day to walk at the Green Bay Planned Parenthood is Oct 21st, we will meet at 7:00 behind Good Shepherd. We walk 8 – 10 and may stop for brunch, returning around noon. Before closing, prayers were offered for Council members, living and deceased.

Prayer Service for Unborn scheduled for Sunday Oct 1st at the memorial in St. Mary’s cemetery. A short but meaningful display for these souls.

Thank you, Volunteers!
Our Council wishes to thank all the members and other volunteers who helped with the many community events this past month – County Fair Entrance; Crafty Apple parking and concession workers; Brat Fry and, of course, those who installed the Pro-Life sign. Without you these events would be dull and lifeless!

Men’s Group Underway
We are back! The fall term of Faith Exploration began Sep 25. We meet each Monday night at 7 pm in the church hall. A brief social and snack is followed by a stimulating faith-centered video. As a group we then discuss the video or share aspects of our individual journey. Positive reinforcement and ideas for additional ways to grow closer to Christ and bring our families with us are always present. No long-term commitment – come as often as you can.

Our Fundraiser was a great success despite the parking lot paving that shared the space! FULL DISCLOSURE – neither the local management of Tractor Supply nor we knew the crew was scheduled until they showed up at 9:30 am. We appreciate our customers fighting through the barriers and all the business orders. Again, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the area community to those in need. We will also be applying for assistance from the State KofC.
