Service for Unborn
On Sunday Oct 1 members of Good Shepherd held a prayer service for Life at the Memorial to the Unborn in the parish cemetery. A poignant and thoughtful program commending these pure and defenseless souls to Almighty God. May he have mercy on us and change the hearts of all those considering and conducting abortions.

Walking for Life
Members of our Council gathered at the Green Bay Planned Parenthood “counseling” site to promote LIFE, Oct 21. We walked the sidewalk, prayed the rosary, and sported signs such as Choose Life, End Abortion, or Defend Life. We will do this again before Easter. Prayerfully consider joining us for that march.

October Meeting
The meeting October 16 commenced at 6:45 PM in the Good Shepherd Hall. There were no bills but the Council discussed ways to support the Good Shepherd Capital Campaign deciding to pledge $4500 over the next three years. How we would generate the fund was not determined but all were confident enough to approve this. Before closing, prayers were offered for all Council members, living and deceased.

Red Kettle
Each year the Salvation Army collects funds via the RED KETTLE at Wal- Mart. This year our Council will again assist with Bell Ringing on Black Friday, i.e., the day after Thanksgiving. Be supportive when contacted to help man or woman the doors for this community event.

Get Signs Ready!
Soon it will be time to remind everyone of the true reason for Christmas. Get them set up before the frost make the task too hard. Is your sign torn and ragged? Not to worry, our Council will again have signs available at the church entrances – watch for them. They are free, but we are not going to refuse donations!

Men’s Group Underway
We are back! The fall term of Faith Exploration began Sep 25. We meet each Monday night at 7 pm in the church hall (except 3rd Monday). A brief social and snack is followed by a 30 min stimulating faith-centered video. As a group we then discuss the video or share aspects of our individual journey. Positive reinforcement and ideas for additional ways to grow closer to Christ and bring our families with us are always present. No long-term commitment – come as often as you can.
