Knightly News February 2024

January Meeting
Monday January 15 meeting began at 6:45 PM with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. We approved the bills, including the first of three $1500 installments to the Good Shepherd Bldg Fund. Spent some time discussing how we will proceed with new member recruitment in Feb assuming Father Jon concurs. Heads up for Mar 9th when we will provide assistance for the Women’s Conference here at Good Shepherd. We normally assist visitors with parking and provide whatever help is needed in the church hall. Ray Mueller shared some ideas about preparing for the 100-year anniversary in Nov, Ron Kolbe briefly discussed the need for the Parish to develop and implement a more formal emergency preparedness plan including training and responsibility delineation. We closed the meeting with prayer for all members – living and deceased. Following the meeting, the Trustees reviewed the past six months accounts paperwork. This is a semi-annual audit.

Men’s Group Underway
We are back! Faith Exploration and ways to grow closer to Jesus. We meet each Monday night at 7 pm in the church hall (except 3rd Monday). A brief social and snack is followed by a 30 min stimulating faith-centered video. As a group we then discuss the video or share aspects of our individual journey. Positive reinforcement and ideas for additional ways to grow closer to Christ and bring our families with us are always present. No long-term commitment – come as often as you can.

Corporate Communion
Sunday February 18 we will hold our annual Communion and Breakfast. Consider joining us for this social. We invite the families of our youth who serve in our weekend Liturgies. Meal is no charge, just a free will donation. This year Deacon Randy Jaeckels will be the featured speaker. Deacon RJ has recently been assigned as Pastoral Coordinator for two parishes – Clarks Mills and Whitelaw. Many of us remember him from his time in New Holstein.
