Lectors
A lector’s primary purpose is to proclaim the Liturgy of the Word, reciting one or both readings, carry the Book of the Gospels in the opening procession, and announce the intentions of the Universal Prayer after introduction by the priest. In the absence of a cantor, the lector may recite the verses of the Psalm. Lectors must be able to articulate the readings in a clear and loud voice, with expression that is reflective of the nature of the reading.

Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
The ordinary minister of Holy Communion is a bishop, priest or deacon. However, other members of the faithful, known as extra-ordinary ministers of Holy Communion, may be commissioned to assist with the distribution of the Sacrament as needed. Extra-Ordinary Ministers of Communion are needed at all weekend Masses and for delivery to hospitalized, homebound, and nursing home residents.

Sacristan Ministers
Sacristan ministers make preparations for the Mass, preparing the sacramental bread and wine and setting out vessels. They will take inventory and replenish material such as sacramental wine and bread. After the last liturgy is complete, sacristans return all objects used to their proper place.
